The Lombard Company was selected by Laser Center Corporation to construct the new Laser Center facility in Schaumburg, Illinois. The 38,905 SF building utilized state-of-the-art equipment to complete cutting, bending and tapping processes of various types of metals. The Lombard Company worked with Bowman Consulting Group during the design phase to assist with precast wall panel information and budgeting and overall project scheduling.

The project includes precast wall panels, drilled piers for support of thickened equipment slabs, underground stormwater detention, structural steel framing, TPO membrane roofing and a truck scale.

There was a tremendous amount of automated equipment in the new Laser Center’s facility.

Doralco, Inc., (Now known as DAMS, Inc.)
Location: Alsip, Illinois

Let The Lombard Company help you with your company’s growth and expansion. To accommodate their rapid growth, Doralco entered into a  negotiated contract with The Lombard Company for the fast track construction of their new state-of-the- art manufacturing facility located at 5919 W. 118th Street in Alsip, IL., which includes 7,330 s.f. of office and 76,146 s.f. of manufacturing area. This more than doubled their previous capacity allowing for continuous product development.

Designed in precast, the building’s exterior walls were erected during mid-winter. In just a short time frame, the structure was enclosed and under roof. This enabled Lombard’s project superintendent, Hank Kalis, to keep the project on schedule.

The upscale design elements also included interior offices with glass fronts; a heated and air conditioned warehouse; an exterior wall canopy which provides protection from outside elements during unloading of material deliveries; a receiving door wide enough to accept deliveries of material 30 foot in length; overhead doors to allow trucks to enter and leave the warehouse with interior unloading; an outside employee patio complete with gas grill; site work complete with parking lot, wetlands, two ponds and walking paths.

Another component of this project was the delivery and installation of the owner’s high tech machinery, including mill machines and water jet equipment. New equipment was shipped from Germany and Canada, while existing machinery was stored locally. Faithful communication between the Owner, The Lombard Company, and its sub-contractors enabled proper hook-up and connections of all the equipment.

In less than a year, The Lombard Company facilitated the design and construction of Doralco. The Owner now is able to use a dynamic structure which will better service a growing list of clients for years to come.

Doralco was leading manufacturer of entrance metal systems, custom cladding and break metal, sunshades and other metal fabrications.
